Summer is here, and there’s a lot to celebrate on the Eagle Valley Trail (EVT)! Whether you’re a daily commuter, weekend explorer, or dedicated supporter of the trail’s mission to connect communities, now is the perfect time to get involved and help us celebrate some big milestones.
Pedal into summer! Join the fun on Bike to Work Day, June 25.
Bike to Work Day – June 25
Grab your helmet and hop on the trail! Bike to Work Day is coming up on Wednesday, June 25, and it’s the perfect chance to swap your car for a different set of wheels.
Whether your route includes the EVT or a nearby route, stop by one of several Bike to Work Day stations located along and near the trail. Pick up snacks, hydration, and good vibes on your morning commute, and ride in solidarity with fellow trail lovers and commuters.
Groundbreaking Celebration – July 1
It’s happening! Mark your calendars for Tuesday, July 1 as we celebrate the start of construction on Phase 1 of the final segment of the EVT. This major milestone brings us closer to the dream: a 63-mile continuous paved path from the top of Vail Pass to Glenwood Canyon.
This phase is a huge step forward in completing one of Colorado’s most iconic multi-use trails—connecting towns, neighborhoods, and outdoor lovers throughout the valley.
Minturn Spur Trail Expansion
Construction is also wrapping up on another exciting extension: an additional segment of the Minturn Spur trail. This new stretch will connect the trail directly to the Minturn North development. And once that development is complete, riders and pedestrians will be able to travel all the way into Minturn on a fully connected trail. More access, more connections, and more reasons to get outside.
New “Slow Your Roll” signs have been installed on the EVT in Avon.
“Slow Your Roll” Signs in Avon
As trail use continues to grow, so does the need to keep things safe and friendly for everyone. This summer, the Town of Avon, in partnership with the EVT, has introduced new “Slow Your Roll” signs along the Trail to remind cyclists and e-bike users to reduce speed and be courteous—especially in busier sections shared with pedestrians.
These signs are part of a broader effort to promote responsible trail use while keeping the experience enjoyable for all. Read more from Vail Daily
